Due to the ongoing success of HTC and Oculus virtual reality systems, it appears that there may be another big player to soon enter the market.  LG Electronics, with some help from Valve, has announced their own virtual reality headset, compatible with SteamVR, to come in the near future.

The prototype will be available for developers to try on at Valve’s booth during GDC, with feedback influencing the final design of the commercial version. According to the Valve press release, LG’s system is “designed to deliver a high fidelity, next generation VR experience.”  LG plans, according to Valve, to spend the week meeting with developers to collect feedback and impressions as “part of its effort to define the first commercial units.”

Because LG’s supposed headset is still in the prototype phase, details such as a release date, price, or region availability have been left unannounced.

We will update this post as more information becomes available.
